Barnes & Noble confirmed its systems fell victim to a cyberattack that may have exposed customers' personal data, ZDNet reports. E-book reader Nook experienced outages Oct. 10 before partial system restoration Oct. 13. The book retailer said the outage was due to "unauthorized and unlawful access" to systems, adding customer email addresses, billing and shipping addresses, telephone numbers, and transaction histories were potentially accessed. Meanwhile, 30,000 Colorado state employees had their data potentially exposed in a recent breach.
