The White House announced U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated DocuSign Chairman and former CEO Keith Krach to be the undersecretary of state for economic growth, energy, and the environment. In the role, Krach will function as the ombudsperson for the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield agreement. Krach has also been nominated to be the U.S. alternate governor of the European and international bank for reconstruction and development. Meanwhile, Facebook’s appeal to stop a referral to the Court of Justice of the European Union on the validity of data transfers between the EU and U.S. has opened in front of Ireland’s Supreme Court.
