The Korea Communications Commission fined TikTok 186 million won for violating South Korean telecommunications law with its improper handling of minors' personal data, Yonhap News Agency. An investigation by the KCC revealed the short-video app collected 6,000 pieces of data from South Korean users under the age of 14 without parental consent. That data was also improperly transferred to servers in the U.S. and Singapore without notification.
