In a blogpost for EE Times, Kantara Initiative Executive Director Colin Wallis writes that a partnership launched between Kantara and the Consent Management Solutions Work Group aims to produce non-proprietary common practices associated with the upcoming EU General Data Protection Regulation to help engineers create products in the new era of privacy requirements. Without a proper roadmap, Wallis writes, product developers may face a "potential roadblock." An iWelcome study revealed that only 20 percent of those surveyed were on the right track adopting the GDPR. Wallis writes, "Engineers and their companies have a real opportunity to capitalize on this digital information, but they will need to know and implement clear guidelines."
