ZDNet reports approximately 55% of central government organizations have appointed data protection officers in compliance with the General Data Protection Law. The Digital Government Secretariat at the Ministry of Economy said the amount of appointed DPOs is not sufficient, noting it has “recently reinforced the priority of nominating of those in charge [of data protection] to the government bodies.” The SGD issued the requirement Nov. 22 with a 30-day deadline.
