A U.S. district court judge ruled in favor of Facebook in its case against law enforcement agencies for failing to carry out a wiretap order, Reuters reports. The Department of Justice asked Facebook back in August to bypass the encryption in its Messenger app in order to monitor members of the international criminal gang MS-13. Facebook argued it did not have to give law enforcement access to calls within Messenger, as it was covered by the exemption stating apps relying solely on internet infrastructure do not need to comply with such requests.
