  • The Hindustan Times reports sources say a draft report by the Joint Parliamentary Committee reviewing India’s proposed Personal Data Protection Bill is likely to be circulated among members by Nov. 6 and is expected to be presented during the winter session.
  • Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said he is hopeful the proposal becomes law in the coming months and will be tabled before Parliament in the upcoming session, Business Standard reports. “Once that law is in place and a data protection authority is in place, an important architecture the governance architecture will fall in place,” Chandrasekhar said.
