- The Joint Parliamentary Committee reviewing India’s draft Personal Data Protection Bill recommends limiting exemptions available to government, Entrackr reports. A preliminary report by the committee recommends government be exempt under a “just, fair, reasonable and proportionate procedure,” and that exception only be used in “exceptional” cases.
- The Times of India reports Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat said data theft has become a common crime and “there is a need for a framework for managing virtual space at national level.”
