European Commission Vice President for Values and Transparency Věra Jourová said she is “not satisfied” with EU General Data Protection Regulation enforcement, adding “we see gaps,” Bloomberg reports. Jourová noted some data protection authorities are understaffed, lack sufficient budgets and are not supported by government. Jourová said GDPR’s “decentralized system for enforcement” was “meant to be a strong tool,” but if it does not work, she said, “then we will have to propose changes.”
