Job screening service HireVue will stop using facial analysis to assess applicants, WIRED reports. CEO Kevin Parker said public outcry over analyzing facial expressions in a recorded video was part of the decision. The Electronic Privacy Information Center filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission in 2019 raising concerns over HireVue's algorithms and fairness. Its software will continue to analyze speech and language, which EPIC Senior Counsel John Davisson said still raises concerns around data collection and bias.
