Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission issued an order suspending operations of sites that publish personal information, Nikkei reports. The commission said publishing personal information online, like the name and address of an individual in a bankruptcy case, violates the Personal Information Protection Law, which requires notifying an individual of the reason for using their information. This is the first time the commission has issued such a stop order.
