Celia Barclay assumed duties as Jamaica’s Information Commissioner Dec. 1, The Gleaner reports. Barclay, who has more than 14 years of experience practicing law in the private and public sectors, will oversee the Office of the Information Commissioner. Minister of Science, Energy and Technology Daryl Vaz said the appointment is significant in implementing Jamaica’s Data Protection Act 2020. “With the commissioner on board, the arrangements for staffing may now be undertaken,” Vaz said.
