In a study conducted by Raytheon and the Ponemon Institute, more than 80 percent of IT and cybersecurity professionals believe unsecured internet-of-things devices will lead to a “catastrophic” data breach at their organizations within the next three years, Nextgov reports. Of the 1,100 professionals polled from the U.S., Europe, Middle East and North Africa, two-thirds expect an increase in ransomware attacks between now and 2021, while 60 percent believe nation-state attacks will also rise in that period. Cisco’s annual cybersecurity report found more than one-third of the 3,600 worldwide IT leaders said budget constraints are affecting their cybersecurity efforts. Meanwhile, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a Class 2 device recall for connected diabetes management app Accu-Chek.
