The Irish Data Protection Commission published three guides for children to explain data protection and their rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The guides are intended for children ages 13 and older because that is the minimum age required to sign up for many social media platforms. The subject matter of the DPC’s guides are data protection, which would introduce children to the concept of what data is, a guide for educating children about their rights under the EU GDPR, and 15 tips for keeping children’s data safe. Editor’s note: The IAPP recently published a book exploring children’s privacy and safety.
