TechCrunch reports Ireland's Data Protection Commission has launched a probe into MTCH Technology Services’ personal data processing for dating app Tinder under the EU General Data Protection Regulation. While announcing the investigation, the DPC said it will examine complaints related to "the transparency surrounding the ongoing processing, and the company’s compliance with its obligations with regard to data subject right’s requests." Match Group, Tinder's parent company, said it will cooperate with the DPC and regards transparency and data protection with the "utmost importance."
