The Irish Data Protection Commission's final decision of its complaint against Instagram’s handling of children’s data in the EU could come by the end of August, TechCrunch reports. The decision has a “hard deadline” of being rendered by the first week of September by the DPC, which is the lead supervisor of Instagram’s parent company, Meta, in the EU. DPC Deputy Commissioner Graham Doyle confirmed the decision was approved through the procedural step contained in Article 65 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation’s regulatory dispute resolution process.
