ZDNet reports Ireland's Health Service Executive confirmed the country has begun rolling out its COVID-19 contact-tracing app. The Irish version of the app uses a decentralized database and follows the tracing technology developed by Apple and Google. The application programming interface generates anonymous identifications through Bluetooth connections, which are relayed to app users if they are or have been in contact with an infected individual. HSE said app trials revealed a 72% accuracy rate for detection.
