The bill includes researching “incorporating bicyclists and other vulnerable road users into the safe deployment of connected vehicle systems,” including potential beacons that could enable bicyclists and pedestrians equipped with transponders to be detected by connected cars. The bill states a report will be submitted to Congress within two years.
