The Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology released the Information Technology (Guidelines for Intermediaries and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. The rules place new obligations on companies that operate in India, requiring companies to create new positions on the ground, add specific terms in company policies, adopt proactive data removal tools and implement new notification procedures.
