The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Kominfo, announced Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Bill is expected to be ready by November. Discussions have been ongoing within the Indonesian Parliament regarding the bill, including a 1 Sept. working meeting held by members of the House of Representatives. "The government hopes to work together with the Indonesian Parliament to immediately step on the gas to complete the Personal Data Protection Bill and get joint approval between the Government and the Indonesian Parliament," Minister of Communication and Information Minister Johnny Plate said.
