India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology is accepting public feedback on behalf of a recently drafted white paper, which provides recommendations for seven key components of India’s data protection law and outlines data protection experiences abroad, GovInfoSecurity reports. The white paper, which was created by a 10-member, government-appointed committee, attempts to clarify what personal data should be termed sensitive, how to define the roles and responsibilities of those involved in data collection, and how to obtain consent to use customer data. Public comment will be heard until Dec. 31.
