MediaNama reports India's Central Board of Secondary Education is using facial recognition technology as a means for students grades 10 through 12 to access and download online academic documents. Students will use the Aadhaar-based cloud repository DigiLocker, which will match face scans to stored photos. An anonymous CBSE representative said, "The system has just been launched, and the department will rectify any errors along the way." Meanwhile, India's Central Railways is seeking to install biometric attendance systems at some train stations.
