A flurry of draft digital regulations are under consideration by EU institutions. Privacy professionals are tuned in on a majority of these proposals and already considering their effects, but IAPP Senior Westin Research Fellow Jetty Tielemans opines that drafts for the Digital Markets Act and the Digital Services Act deserve more attention. Tielemans writes privacy professionals may believe these statutes "have no bearing on their day-to-day privacy work," but suggests the reality "is more complex" while outlining points of consideration in both the DMA and DSA.
