The Information Commissioner’s Office announced plans to support organizations with the arrival of the General Data Protection Regulation. The ICO will be initiating three phases to help organizations adjust to the new legal framework. The first phase focuses on familiarizing organizations with the GDPR and its key building blocks. The second phase overlaps with phase one and will develop a guidance structure. The ICO will also aim to develop more tools and resources to help organizations achieve compliance, particularly small to medium-sized businesses. Finally, the third phase will finalize the guidance and "complete the development of any practical tools we have decided to pursue.”
