The U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office has released a checklist for law enforcement authorities to follow in the event the U.K. leaves the European Union without a data deal. The checklist is broken down into five steps. The ICO advises law enforcement to continue to comply with Part 3 of the Data Protection Act 2018, review all their documentation, and educate staff members on “the ongoing importance of data protection compliance, as well as specific implications for data flows.” The checklist also covers data transfers between the U.K. and the EU.
