The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office has raided two addresses in the Greater Manchester area as part of its investigation into organizations suspected of sending millions of nuisance text messages, the agency announced in a news release. The incident is part of a probe into companies suspected of sending 11 million unsolicited text messages between January 2017 and January 2018. "Along with existing evidence, we hope the evidence seized in the raids will enable us to stop this business's activity and act as a deterrent to others," ICO Enforcement Group Manager Andy Curry said.
