The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office announced new guidance on data subject access requests. The ICO said its guidelines aim to better outline subjects' rights to request access to data and the obligations relevant authorities must tend to with such requests. The guidance also addresses joint controllers, efforts to obtain data through a surrogate and limitations on requests. Additionally, the ICO drew up guidance on how to handle "unfounded or excessive" requests. A public consultation is open for both guides through March 11.
