The U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office has released guidance to assist small- and medium-sized businesses in the U.K. to ensure personal data continues to flow with Europe in the event of a no-deal Brexit. The ICO offers guidance for those businesses with no contacts in Europe, those who send and receive data from Europe, organizations with a European presence and have European customers, and those who send and receive data to countries outside of Europe. "If you are a U.K. business or organisation that receives personal data from contacts in the [European Economic Area], you need to take extra steps to ensure that the data can continue to flow after Brexit," the ICO said in the announcement.
