The U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office fined Your Money Rights 350,000 GBP for making a record 146 million illegal calls. Following the ICO’s investigation, directors of Your Money Rights are now seeking to dissolve the company. The ICO will remain committed to recovering the fine and has announced plans to work with insolvency practitioners and the liquidator if the company moves to insolvency. ICO Head of Enforcement Steve Eckersley said, “A change in law to make directors personally liable for illegal marketing calls can’t come soon enough.” The ICO also fined Easyleads Limited 260,000 GBP for making 16.7 million automated marketing calls.
