The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office fined American Express Services Europe 90,000 GBP for the illicit sending of more than 4 million marketing emails. The ICO found Amex sent the unwanted emails between June 2018 and May 2019 during an investigation it launched after receiving complaints from customers who opted out of receiving the messages. The ICO also fined Tested.me for sending 84,000 nuisance emails to individuals who handed over their information for contact-tracing purposes.
