U.K. Information Commissioner's Office Innovation Hub Senior Policy Officer Nick Patterson outlined a recent ICO presentation on the persistent U.K. General Data Protection Regulation compliance issues being raised. During the Financial Conduct Authority's Virtual Women's Economic Empowerment TechSprint, the ICO revealed common queries on accountability, special category data processing and consent as a lawful basis for processing. "We were able to point out and help work through challenges that teams hadn’t yet thought about and prevent barriers further down the line," Patterson wrote.
