According to those involved in discussions, Huawei Technologies is planning to spend at least $2 billion toward securing its global software systems, Bloomberg reports. The pledge comes amid fears that the company’s systems could be co-opted by Chinese intelligence. Company officials are expected to present details of the plan to the British government’s National Cyber Security Centre before releasing it publicly. Previously, the National Cyber Security Centre had raised concerns against the company’s source code and management of third-party arrangements.
