HSBC Bank has been hit by a data breach at its U.S. location, The Telegraph reports. The bank said malicious actors gained access to user accounts between Oct. 4 and Oct. 14 through the use of credentials they likely gathered from previous data breaches. HSBC said less than 1 percent of its U.S. customers were affected by the breach and that it has not seen any incidents of fraud as a result of the incident. The hackers were able to access customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers, account numbers, and balances and transaction histories. The bank has notified the affected individuals and has taken steps to shore up its security.
