Google brought forth a package of commitments to the European Commission to assuage privacy and antitrust concerns stemming from its acquisition of Fitbit. The commission accepted the commitments and commenced a search for an organization to keep tabs on Google over the allotted 10-year monitoring period. Privacy technology vendor Sentinel has been named Technical Expert for the deal to ensure Google honors its commitments.
