- Members of the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee probed FBI and Department of Homeland Security officials on the rise in ransomware attacks during a hearing, GovInfoSecurity reports. Ranking member John Katko, R-N.Y., said Americans are facing “unprecedented threats,” while officials highlighted efforts to address threats. FBI Director Christopher Wray said the agency is “investigating over 100 different types of ransomware.”
