Ada Chung Lai-Ling has been named Hong Kong’s new privacy commissioner for personal data. Chung, who joined the Hong Kong government in 1981 and currently serves as the registrar of companies, will begin the role Sept. 4 and serve for a term of five years. Stephen Wong’s term expires Aug. 3. A government spokesman said Chung brings legal expertise, administrative experience, leadership, and management and communication skills, adding that she will bring the PCPD “to a new height.”
