Panthéon-Assas University and Hogan Lovells have teamed up to create the first university degree for training Data Protection Officers under the General Data Protection Regulation. The program will include courses in law, cybersecurity, data analytics, management, and ethics, and will be taught by faculty including law school professors, practicing DPOs, information security specialists, lawyers CNIL regulators, and representatives from major companies, such as Google and Microsoft. “This is an exciting time because data protection law is being created before our eyes. The new European regulation is just the start,” said Paris University professor and program co-creator Bénédicte Fauvarque-Cosson.
