Courthouse News Service reports CVS has been hit with a class-action lawsuit after a group of HIV-positive customers accused the pharmacy chain of violating their privacy. The four plaintiffs claim they were forced to purchase their medication at CVS retail stores or have them mailed to their home addresses. Among the privacy concerns, the plaintiffs claim neighbors were seeing their HIV medication and other CVS customers were hearing the plaintiffs answer questions related to their HIV statuses. The plaintiffs attempted to opt-out of using CVS but state they were ignored by the company and were ultimately forced to stay with the pharmacy chain due to the high out-of-pocket prices of the medication, the report states.
