The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is relaxing the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act privacy and security requirements for COVID-19 community-based testing sites to make it easier to collect patient data, Nextgov reports. The HHS Office for Civil Rights said in a notice other health care providers still have to fully comply with HIPAA.
