The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights is urging covered organizations to protect themselves against cyber incidents as cyberattacks continue to rise, GovInfoSecurity reports. “For healthcare, 2021 was even more turbulent as cybercriminals took advantage of hospitals and healthcare systems responding to the COVID-19 pandemic,” OCR Director Lisa Pino said, adding it is “so important for healthcare to be vigilant in their approach to cybersecurity.”
