The "Beazley 2019 Breach Briefing" reveals the health care industry suffered the most data breaches in 2018, Canadian Underwriter reports. Health care breaches made up 41% of the 3,300 data compromises reported to Beazley last year, while the financial industry made up 20% of the incidents. Business email compromise increased by 133% in 2018 and affected the financial industry more than the health care sector at 27% and 22% respectively. “BEC, ransomware attacks and banking Trojans were key trends in 2018 and are continuing to evolve in 2019,” the briefing said. “These attacks do not discriminate in targeting businesses; all industry verticals and organizations of all sizes are falling victim to these crimes.”
