For several hours, the website for the National Health Practitioner Ombudsman and Privacy Commissioner’s website was unavailable, causing concern to grow that the site had experienced a serious data breach, The Sydney Morning Herald reports. To calm those fears, Alastair MacGibbon, head of the Australian Cyber Security Centre, said, “the website has not been hacked — it was being updated and obviously they didn’t check it.” Calling it a misconfiguration, MacGibbon said, “It’s certainly not a major security issue.” The only information exposed was that of the administrator’s log-in information, which, MacGibbon said, “can be changed.”
