Coda interviewed hacker and researcher Matthias Marx, who lodged a complaint with the Hamburg Data Protection Authority against Clearview AI for using his data without consent and launched the “Reclaim your Face” campaign calling for more controls on facial recognition technology. After more than a year, the DPA ordered Clearview to delete Marx’s biometric data. Marx said the tech could be “very dangerous” as “times change, countries change.”
