Following the Austrian data protection authority’s ruling that using Google Analytics violates the EU General Data Protection Regulation, Google’s President of Global Affairs and Chief Legal Officer Kent Walker, in a blog post, urged EU and U.S. governments to finalize a new data transfer framework that “protects privacy and promotes prosperity.” Walker said, “a durable framework” will “bolster the transatlantic relationship” and “assure continued protection of people’s right to privacy on both sides of the Atlantic.”
