BiometricUpdate.com reports Google is seeking the dismissal of redundant lawsuits under Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act. In court filings, Google alleges law firms Ahdoot & Wolfson and Carey Rodriguez Milian Gonya have brought duplicate cases in three jurisdictions regarding Google Photos images. "The law does not permit such blatant (forum shopping) and duplicative litigation," Google said in its filing. Meanwhile, Boston City Council unanimously approved a ban on government use of facial recognition software.
