AdExchanger reports France's Council of State, the Conseil d’État, denied Google's appeal of its $57 million EU General Data Protection Regulation fine issued by the French data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, in January 2019. Google's appeal focused on the lack of jurisdiction the CNIL had in relation to regulating Google's European operations. The Conseil d’État is expected to deliver its final judgment on the matter before the end of June.
