While Google announced a new design would be rolled out in a few weeks, screenshots of the new design for Gmail’s web platform offer a look at updated privacy settings for email, TechCrunch reports. Updates include enabling a “confidential” setting that prevents a message from being forwarded, copied, downloaded or printed. Users will also be able to select expiration dates for messages, and recipients will be asked to confirm their identity with a passcode sent via text. Meanwhile, there is speculation that the Facebook backlash might find Google in its crosshairs, as well.
