Following a report from Motor Trend magazine claiming Porsche had chosen not to use Android Auto in its newest cars because of privacy concerns, Google has denied the in-car entertainment system spies on users, The Guardian reports. The report claimed certain pieces of data from the entertainment system is collected and “mailed back to Mountain View, California. Stuff like vehicle speed, throttle position, coolant and oil temperature, engine revs … ” But Google disputed the report, saying, “We take privacy very seriously and do not collect the data the Motor Trend article claims, such as throttle position, oil temp and coolant temp."
