Artificial intelligence is a promising technology, but its potential negative consequences raise “real concerns,” Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai writes in an op-ed for the Financial Times. “While there is already some work being done to address these concerns, there will inevitably be more challenges ahead that no one company or industry can solve alone,” Pichai said. Global standards and an “agreement on core values” are needed, he writes. “There is no question in my mind that artificial intelligence needs to be regulated. It is too important not to.
