Google entered into an agreement to acquire cloud data management company Actifio, Vice President of Engineering Brad Calder wrote in a blog post. Calder called Actifio a “leader in backup and disaster recovery” and said the planned acquisition “further demonstrates Google Cloud’s commitment to helping enterprises protect workloads on-premises and in the cloud.” Actifio CEO Ash Ashutosh said with Google Cloud, “we are well-positioned to serve the needs of data-driven customers across industries.”
